Just finished reading “I’ll Give It My All…Tomorrow” by Shunju Aono which I bought based on the title alone at the incredible Kinokuniya Bookstore in San Francisco’s Japantown.

It follows a 40 year old Japanese office worker who quits the job he’s had for 15 years to randomly become a published manga artist, despite his minimal artistic talents and the protests of his family and friends. It’s really funny and often poignant, reminds me of American Splendor and gives a great perspective on daily life in Japan. I can’t wait to track down the other volumes.
